“Working with the smaller kids, it’s so fun that you just want to be here. It’s like my second home away from home.”
Vivalyn Jones, Volunteer
Each year hundreds of people give their time to help us achieve our mission. We seek individuals and groups to help as one-time volunteers or in an ongoing capacity. We need help with: program assistance, community events, videography and photography, and administrative and fundraising tasks. Volunteering with us is fun, and you might even get to wear a funny hat!
If you are an existing volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to indicate your availability for these events. We will check and respond to new volunteer inquiries on a weekly basis.
Special Event Volunteers: Individuals engage with the community, use their valuable skills to help with the setup and facilitation of activities, communicate with event partners, etc. We have exciting outreach events on a regular basis and are recruiting energetic, creative, and thoughtful individuals who can help us deliver the community and creativity that Creative Action offers. Upcoming:
- Youth Arts Festival: Join us as more than 200+ young people from 15+ schools across Central Texas showcase their deeply moving work, including plays, film, photography, sculpture, poetry, and more—leaving attendees inspired by the talent, commitment, and powerful voices of these young Austinites. Volunteers are needed to assist with set up, guiding families and guests between the presentations, distributing food to our young artists, and helping with clean up. May 11th, 10:30 am – 2 pm at Creative Action, 1023 Springdale Road, Building 3
Summer Camp Volunteering!: Want to help kids learn about how art can change the world? Then spend your summer with Creative Action as a Summer Camp Volunteer!
Creative Action is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers to help make our summer camps a success. Volunteers help our professional Teaching Artists during creativity classes with games and art projects, help supervise and mentor youth during recess and lunch time, and support our staff and students at Final Sharings for friends and family at the end of each week!
We offer summer camps with a variety of creative themes, such as film making, visual art, sketch comedy, and musical theatre at locations around Austin.
Learn more about our camp schedule here.
To get involved, please sign up for orientation here.
Legacy Leaders: Adults age 55+ assist our Out of School Time programs one afternoon a week by helping with an intergenerational art project, incorporating their life memories.
