“Working with the smaller kids, it’s so fun that you just want to be here. It’s like my second home away from home.”
Vivalyn Jones, Legacy Leader
Each year hundreds of people give their time to help us achieve our mission. We consistently seek individuals and groups to help as one-time volunteers or in an ongoing capacity.
If you are interested in volunteering to help Creative Action in classrooms, with Older Adults, at community events, and more, please fill out this form.
AMERICORPS
Creative Action AmeriCorps service members help provide critical high-quality after school care and summer learning programs to youth in the greater Austin area. Service members serve as educators and creatives at one of our many after school sites, playing an integral role in delivering hands-on, arts-based projects that support social and emotional development and 21st century skills.
Legacy Leaders
We seek adults age 55 and better, who love and value children and have a story or skill to share! Examples of Legacy Leader projects include collaging, story sharing, gardening, science demos, and art projects.
“Once we started planting, 'I want to help! I want to help!' All the kids loved it. They really like to do things with adults -- they want to be involved with us.”
Debbie Doggett, Legacy Leader
