SUMMER STUDIO 2022
Creative Action’s Studio program is a 2-week intensive educational experience for teens ages 11-15 interested in taking their art skills to the next level while advancing their personal community-building skills and leadership potential. The program brings a diverse group of teens together from all across Austin and Central Texas to reflect on their world and experiences through their art.
Participants work alongside professional artists in a college environment where they get a hands-on experience with professional-grade equipment. Youth choose from one of three “tracks”:
APPLICANTS CHOOSE ONE OF THREE TRACKS:
Move beyond paper and pencil to create art across mediums, from printmaking to sculpture to digital media.
Creative Action and UT’s ST.ART Pre-College have partnered up to offer middle school-aged artists a two-week workshop led by practicing artists. This opportunity is for current 5th – 8th graders. Camp workshops will be led by practicing artists that will inspire you to expand your art toolkit and build confidence in art making.

- Ages 11-14 (rising 6th-rising 9th graders)
- Early Drop-Off: 8:30 a.m.
- Official Day: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Location: Art Building – UT Austin (2301 San Jacinto Boulevard (at Deloss Dodds Way / 23rd St.)
- Cost: Before April 1st: $500 | After April 1st: $600

We invite young people to journey into “The Upside Down” to share their experiences and also to imagine new worlds and possibilities. Students in this camp will explore multiple creative tracks including: floor movement, aerial arts, and creative writing. Our camp will culminate in an original performance that combines their stories with newly learned aerial and floor movement performance skills.
