Each month we celebrate community through free arts workshops, performances, live-music and active learning experiences for all ages at Creative Action. With support from sponsors like H-E-B, Oskar Blues Brewery, Bennu Coffee, and KIND and our Community Partners such as Sustainable Food Center, ThinkBilingual, and Texans for the Arts, we connect community and art to create a joyful and meaningful experience for all.

This month’s theme, Celebrate Your Creative Voice, will feature a ton of interactive arts activities for the whole family! Come connect with your friends, family and community in a creative and meaningful way.

This FREE, fun and family-friendly event will include…

  • Interactive performances by Creative Action’s The Heroes/Los Héroes show
  • Join Mi Casa Es Tu Casa for a Spanish immersion music class for children 0 to 5
  • Explore selected Guinean dance movement vocabulary, rhythms, and cultural significance with an interactive drum and dance workshop by Lannaya Drum & Dance Ensemble
  • Look inside to find what makes a community through Poetry
  • Contribute to a Poetry collage with UT Children’s Research Center
  • Tinker with sound and Makey Makey fruit pianos
  • Learn about the art of the Zine and explore zines crafted by youth and community with Barrio Writers
  • Craft a tin can telephone and share a secret message with a friend
  • Join in storytime and sing along activities en español with MamaLingua
  • Connect with Think Bilingual Austin to learn more about bilingual opportunities in Austin
  • Come ready to groove with live spinning by Chulita Vinyl Club
  • Free food, drinks, KIND SnacksBennu Coffee, and Oskar Blues Brewery Austin beer! 
  • Recipe sampling and sharing by Sustainable Food Center
