Are you someone who believes in the power of the creative arts to uplift the hearts and minds of young people? Do you have experience teaching young people through your creative skills? If so, we want you to join our dedicated team.
Through interactive classroom performances, after school residencies and community based programs, Teaching Artists are the backbone of our program, inspiring youth to be creative artists, courageous allies, critical thinkers and confident leaders in their community. The local, working artists come from a wide variety of backgrounds and skill sets, and have gone on to be:
- Graduate and doctoral students
- Social workers
- Therapists and counselors
- Speech and language pathologists
- Digital archivists
- Business and communication professionals
- University lecturers and professors
- Elementary and middle school teachers
Teaching Artists also have a lot of fun! With access to a community of local, professional artists, as well as frequent training that includes ice breakers, games, and workshops, our artists create a vibrant, playful community of their own.
Creative Action is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and equity in the workplace. We value experience in addition to education when hiring. We strongly encourage those who reflect the communities we serve to apply, including bilingual individuals and/or people or color.
If hired, you will begin the onboarding and training process described to the right.
