Our high-quality, onsite, licensed after school program engages students in visual art, filmmaking, music, puppetry, creative writing, acting, and more to deepen connections to lessons learned in the classroom, all while expanding the development of social and emotional skills. Students participate in hands-on activities led by professional teaching artists to create projects that improve the community and the world around them.
- After school runs every day of the AISD calendar from the end of the school day until 6 p.m.
- The cost for the 2019-20 school year is $255/month/child but we do offer financial aid for those that qualify

At Cunningham Elementary, we also offer Storybook Adventures for Pre-K students 2:12 – 2:57 p.m. Students explore reading, creative drama, movement, and art around a daily storybook. Program cost is $75/month/child from August – May.
Enrollment for the 2019-20 school year is open.
2:50 – 3:00 Teaching Artists pick up students. Our TAs will be stationed outside of the classrooms and school day teachers will release your kids into our care.
3:05 – 3:30 Students have outdoor time. We use the gated playground that is located behind the school’s annex (our home base).
3:35 – 4:00 Hand washing and snack. We are located in the annex/cobra island. Remember, we do not provide snack so be sure there is a snack labeled for Creative Action in your child’s backpack.
4:00 – 5:15/5:30 Creativity Classes in the annex
5:30 – 6:00 Homework / Pick up time from the annex

Carl Gonzales is an actor, singer, and director in Austin and surrounding areas. He has appeared on The Daily Show with John Stewart, and has appeared on stage in productions such as “Into The Woods”, “Honk!” and “Doper than Dope” (Austin’s own “In Living Color”).
