“Wish Trees: The Activation!” Realizes Hope in ATX

“Wish Trees: The Activation!” took Austin’s sincerest wishes and projected them as art.

In Spring 2021, Creative Action’s Wish Trees collected as many wishes as possible to help grow a better world. “Wish Trees: The Activation!” took those wishes and created an immersive experience where hope came to life in a conveyor belt of artists. Each station took the wish prescribed and turned it into art in real-time. From movement to visual art, puppets, acroyoga, and theatre – Creative Action (through #AustinSafelyCreates) hired local performers to create moments of aspiration, ambition, and dreams.

Wish Trees are a community project under #AustinSafelyCreates, a program in partnership between Creative Action and the City of Austin Economic Development. This community-wide education and awareness campaign centers on art-making to foster positive mental health, build community, and inspire hope.
