The school year is back in full swing! In addition to classes resuming, students from the University of Texas are joining the Creative Action team. Texas Tower Public Relations (Tower PR), a student-run PR agency, aims to help Creative Action reach their 2013 goals. Led by Account Executives Nathan Boone and Aly Kasberg, the team will consist of five UT students eager to help the organization grow.

Aly Kasberg is a junior PR major currently interning at Noble Strategic Partners, a public affairs firm. Aly is a returning member of the Creative Action team. Formerly an associate, she now leads as an account executive. She is also a member of the Texas Spirits. Nathan Boone is junior PR and Corporate Communications major. He is also involved in a student run advertising agency. Outside of Tower, he enjoys kayaking on Town Lake.

When asked what he was most excited about, Nathan remarked “even as kids, we seek fulfillment by expressing ourselves. I’m excited to be a part of an organization that helps kids do that in a beneficial way.”

Other members of the Tower team are happy to join Creative Action as well. Paige Velasquez, a sophomore public relations major, is excited to be a part of the team. In her spare time she enjoys writing songs, playing the guitar and singing. Her love for the creative arts has pushed her to work with both Radio Disney and The Velocity Tour. Michelle Blam, a junior public relations and journalism major, also has a background in music and art. When she is not at school, she plays the tenor drum in a top-level, competitive Scottish bagpipe band. She hopes to have a future career based upon communications and creativity. James Egger, a sophomore at UT pursuing PR, has worked as a social media coordinator to help host charity benefit mixers and art shows. He currently is the Associate Copy Desk Chief of The Daily Texan and trombone player in the jazz duo Whole Milk Tones. Austin Malcom, a junior returning as a Tower member, looks forward to his second semester serving Creative Action.

Reflecting on his favorite memories with Creative Action, Austin recalled, “Volunteering at Austin City Limits was a blast. Interacting with kids was rewarding and seeing the music was great.”
