Craft-A-Long: Designing a Recycled Bird Feeder (Day 1)
Get ready for a week-long craft along with CA’s Alyssa! You’ll need to prepare the following materials and each day do that day’s activity and post your progress to the CA Facebook or tag using #CAcraftalong.
Materials Needed
- String/Twine/Yarn
- Cardboard – boxes/paper tubes, etc
- Scissors or a sharp knife (ask for adult support with this)
- Glue or clear tape
- Birdseed – or unflavored/sugar added cereal (example wheat Os, rice squares etc.)
- A stick at least ½ inch in diameter
- Paper and coloring materials
Side note: hot glue can be used to make a more stable structure however because it is made of a plastic it will is not biodegrade compared to craft liquid glue. I used masking tape to create this in a one day project – glue may take a few days or may need to be reinforced with additional cardboard pieces.
