Summer Enrichment at Creative Action!

Summer is almost here!

Creative Action’s camps offer kids out of school enrichment through numerous forms of art. They can explore their creativity, meet new friends and have so much fun they have no idea that it’s benefiting their social and emotional development.

• New themes for 2016 – Art Avant-Garde – Explore the styles and techniques that made them famous, learn about their lives, and step into stories beyond the frame. Take your creativity to the next level and push the boundaries of art and innovation. Broadway or Bust – We’re bringing back one of our most popular camps. Act, dance, sing, and perform songs for the stage in a musical theatre celebration. Tastes of Texas – Dig into local dishes! Discover what grows in our unique climate and learn the history of our favorite foods through folktales, stories, art activities, gardening, and cooking!
• West Austin Creative Action Summer Camps are back! This summer, Creative Action will have four weeks of camp for ages 5-10 at Shepherd of the Hills on Bee Cave.

  July 11-15  Movie Magic – Lights, Camera, Action!  Get ready for a crash-course introduction to filmmaking. Through a series of engaging skill-building workshops, you’ll explore storyboarding, animation, green screen special effects, and more. Produce an original film for a world-premiere screening on the final Friday of camp, complete with a red carpet and walk of fame.
  July 25-29  Art Avant-Garde – From Dali to Duchamp, meet influential artists who changed the way we see the world. Explore the styles and techniques that made them famous, learn about their lives, and step into stories beyond the frame. Take your creativity to the next level and push the boundaries of art and innovation.
  August 1 – August 5  Heroes’ Quest – Do you have what it takes to stand up for justice and save the day? Discover your super-self and share your hidden powers. Create comic books, build an obstacle course, and design masks and costumes inspired by stories of historical heroes, legendary leaders, and imaginary adventurers.

• Creative Action is excited to bring the third summer of The Studio for artists ages 10 to 13! Join us for Film Studio: 21st Century Classics, Art Studio: Make Your Mark, and Theatre Studio: Live Action Radio Play! All of our Studios are two-week long intensives that lead up to public performances where you can show off what you have learned to friends and family!
